Sometimes, these recommendations take the form of suggested changes to resource allocations, merging departments or splitting them, or simply establishing expectations in terms of costs and revenues in order to maximize profits and efficiencies.
You previously consulted with a merchandising client, and because of your established success, we would like to ask you to consult with a larger and more complex merchandiser. One of our clients is considering restructuring departments and has provided a combination of financial data and factors for consideration. We look forward to reading your recommendations.
To prepare for this Assignment, refer to the information provided by the client, as well as the assigned resources for the week. You may wish to search for additional guidance and research via the Library. If you have relevant personal and professional experience that may inform your thinking as well, you may wish to incorporate it into your consultant report.
To complete this Assignment, using the information learned in previous weeks as well as the current week, analyze the merchandising business scenario presented by our client. For each department, analyze the budgeted vs. actual data. Also calculate the break-even for each department and evaluate its performance. Consider data-driven as well as qualitative factors. Recommend keeping each department open, closing it, bringing in traffic that feeds to another department, or combining departments. Justify your recommendations. Finally, explain the assumptions you have made and support them with at least 2 resources from the weekly readings or the Library, in APA format. Use the template provided.
