Choose a bill for a social issue/problem you are passionate about. Provide a one paragraph synopsis of the bill. Identify and share the link to your bill if possible.
You will then need to create and present testimony for this bill. Presentations should be no longer than 5 minutes. Criteria for Testimony:
Identification of yourself with relevant data about position, organization or group represented, expertise or experience with respect to this bill
You will need to make it clear at the outset what bill, or portion thereof, was being addressed and what position he/she would take on this measure
You are to present arguments for or again the bill in a clear, logical fashion
You are to be clear about the action or decision he/she desired of the “committee” you are testifying for.
You engaged the “committee” by speaking in a conversational way, maintaining eye contact with the committee, and using plain language You are to evoke a sense of confidence in his/her expertise on the bill in question
